Material constraints
Collection Explorer ◢Parts group ◢Material Constraints collection
Defines the handling, storage, recovery, or legally-imposed constraints on the materials and substances that are used in your parts.
Materials
- Name
- This is the name for the material constraint.
- Description
- This gives the material constraint.
- Application information required
- When this checkbox is marked, a part with this material constraint must be provided with information about the location and/or application of the material used within that part. If the checkbox is cleared, then the application or location information is not required.
- Active: users can select
Default member of collection
Permanent member of collection - See the Managing collections: Common attributes help topic.
Since the fundamental purpose of this collection is to segregate your materials for reporting purposes, you should define those constraints that are most useful in handling, or which are legally required for reporting.
Each identified constraint probably requires related steps, such as employee training or special provisions for handling or storage.
