This help topic describes the current PDXpert PLM release. Earlier releases may be different. To view your release's version of this topic, open PDXpert and press the F1 key or select the Help menu.
Add or remove materials
The Materials list showsmaterials(chemical substances) that are used to produce the part. The list typically contains the substances that are regulated for safety or environmental compliance.
Materials values can be changed by the part trustee (and analysts) until the part is released. After release:
- A change to the released materials data is treated as non-interchangeable. This requires a new part number, not a revision to the released part.
- The materials list is updated by using the Tools menu: Administrator Override commandor the Batch Importer tool.
To add a material to the list:
- Unlock the part (F2 key).
- Open the Collection Explorer.
- Open the Materials collection or enter the material name into theFilter… box.
- Select the material, and drag the record onto an empty area of the Materials list.
- Enter the Quantity, Units, and Location values.
- Save the part.
To remove a material row:
- Click on the row selector (on the left) so that the selector shows ► and the complete row is highlighted.
- Press the keyboard Delete key.
